Lesley Chiang joined the swim team coaching staff in 2019. She stepped into the Varsity Head Coach position in 2020 and guided the Varsity Girls and Boys teams to division championships in 2022. 

Lesley graduated from Hillsdale High School, class of 2012, and was a proud member of the Hillsdale aquatics program, playing on the Varsity Girls Water Polo Team for 3 years and swimming on the Varsity Swim Team for 4 years. Today, she continues to swim on the CSM Masters team. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and currently works at AppDynamics as a software engineer.

Her love for the pool and all things swimmings brought her back to Hillsdale, where she hopes to inspire the next generation of swimmers. Lesley is excited to be returning for another season and looks forward to leading the team to continued success.  

Jina Button is a 23 year veteran Physical Education teacher and coach.  She is one of the 9th grade Physical Education teachers here at Hillsdale.  Jina has been a part of the HHS Swim Coaching Staff for the past 4 years.  She is currently coaching both the girls and the boys junior varsity swim teams.  The girls JV team was undefeated for the second year in a row!  Both the girls and boys JV teams took first place this season and won the PAL Ocean Division Title.  Jina is thrilled with the success of her swimmers and hopes that the team continues to grow over the next few years.
