CCS Track and Field Finals on 6/19/21
Hillsdale sent 2 athletes in 2 individual events. Patrick Pomianek Discus and Colleen Lucey 1600m
It is the first time since 2010 more that one Hillsdale athlete has qualified to the CCS Finals
This is the first time since 2014 that a Hillsdale boy has made it to CCS Finals: Sam Smith Discus 144-04, 9th place.
This is the first time since 2010 that a Hillsdale girl has made it to CCS Finals: Melissa Hasting 1600m 5:20.87 (8th) and Quinta Ekong Discus 138-03 (2nd place)
Patrick's second place finish is the highest finish for a Hillsdale male athlete at the CCS Finals since Amit Barkan won the Pole Vault in 1991. He would have advanced to the State meet this year if there was one.
Patrick's winning throw of 145-10 is the best discus throw for Hillsdale since Sam Smith in 2010. Patrick's throw ranks him 12th in HHS history.
Colleen's finish is the best girls finish since 2010 when Quinta was 2nd and Melissa was 8th.
Colleen's season best of 5:10.79 ranks her second all time in Hillsdale history, just behind Melissa.
CCS Track and Field Semis on 6/12/21:
Hillsdale sent 10 athletes in 5 individual events and 2 relays.
This is the first time Hillsdale has sent both girls' relays to the Prelims: 4 x 100 (Anderson, Lim, Masarova, Snodgrass) and 4 x 400 (Snodgrass, Cl. Lucey, Co. Lucey, Robinson, Buckley alt.)
The girls' 4x4 set a 5th all time best Hillsdale mark at the prelims (4:17.69).
This is the first time Hillsdale has qualified two boys in both Shot and Discus (Costello, Pomianek)
This is the first time Hillsdale has qualified a girl in both the 800 and 1600 (Colleen Lucey)
